Launching on July 1, 2024, Our Own Lives is dedicated to empowering people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in Southwest Colorado to live their best lives, on their own terms. Our Own Lives is built on the principle that "We are all experts in our own lives," and we're putting that belief into action every single day.
Whether you need help finding a job, connecting with friends, or just some support around the house, we've got you covered. Our services include:
Employment Support: Helping you find a job and build a career!
In-Home Support: Assisting with cooking, cleaning, shopping and more.
Day Services and Activities: Offering fun and engaging group or individual activities.
Medical Coordination: Ensuring you get the healthcare you need.
Mentorship and Advocacy Training: Building skills and confidence to lead and advocate.
Community Access and Transportation: Making sure you can get where you want to go.
Host Homes: Providing 24-hour support in a home setting.
Behavior Services: Support for you to respond to challenges on your terms.
Respite Care: Giving caregivers a well-deserved break.

Getting Started with Our Services
Interested in our services? The first step is to contact Community Connections, our region's Case Management Agency. Experienced case managers will guide you through the application and service planning process. Just let them know you want to choose Our Own Lives as your service provider, and we'll take it from there.
